Al Ain Taxi in Al Ain Times
Miranda from Al Ain Times has been hounding me for the past few weeks. Her colleague, Lucky Mae has also sent me a few e mails as well. Miranda has promised to protect my anonymity and not let the paper's photographer come within miles of the interview. So who shall I go with?
I'm still not sure if I'm going to do this...advice anyone?

If you feel uneasy about it, do the interview over the phone or via email.
Avoid really personal details, such as your gender reassignment surgery, or your seven ex-husbands, or the camel tattoo on your *you know where*. Al Ain is a small place, and people might recognise you otherwise.
;)
...or do it over webcam, wearing a veil...
Whatever you do make sure you get paid.
Hmmm, I'm not expecting cash. What I've heard there's not a lot of that sloshing aroung at the Al Ain Times. I like the idea of doing an e mail interview though. Might be safer that way.
SD: I will be careful not to reveal the camel tattoo, mustnt bend down...
Go with the email interview.....and I agree be careful with what you reveal there are so many rumours going round this place. It's scary!!
I wonder what they will want to know - perhaps you could offer the poem for the paper to publish?
I've decided against it. I'm not happy with Al Ain Times, it's great that the city has a newspaper but the standard of writing is terrible. The headline 'World money laundering experts meet in Al Ain' is a prime example of this.
My guess is that they're employing students to do the work. My other guess is its being run on the cheap. If this is the case, then surely after ten issues it's time for some serious money to be invested in this.
I'm just speculating, I don't know much about what goes on behind the scenes there.
