I'm sure you will get it sorted out.
I had a friend who told me that a similar thing happened to him when he got back from summer vacation as well. He claimed that someone at AADC had transfered someone else's power charges to his account so that that person wouldn't have to pay the bill.
A friend of mine had this happen to them a couple of summers ago in Dubai. When they went to sort it out DEWA said...
the bill isn't just for the summer. All the lights during the shopping festival etc. have to be paid for somehow!!!
I hope you don't have to pay it - unfortunately they did! Let us know how you get on :)
I've heard that if its on your bill and the bills in your name you've got to pay it regardless.
I hate to spoil the party but I just got my first bill for the last 2 months and it was 6 AED.
I hope it continues, Who says Ajaman is a **** hole.

I can imagine going in and asking for you to give them less money is even more horrid than giving them money.
